Easy Cinnamon Roll Donuts

Make these easy cinnamon roll donuts with just 2 ingredients. Canned cinnamon buns are deep fried until golden then topped with cream cheese icing for a delicious breakfast or quick treat.

  • 12.4 oz canned cinnamon rolls
  • oil vegetable or canola


  • First, start by pouring about 2 inches of oil into a large pot.
  • Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches about 355 degrees F. Use a kitchen thermometer to measure the temperature.
  • Transfer the cinnamon rolls to a cutting board. Use a small round cookie cutter to cut a hole down the center of each cinnamon bun. Save those donut holes for frying.
  • Fry the donuts and donut holes for 1-2 minutes on each side. Cook them in batches, about 3 at a time so the oil temperature doesn’t drop.
  • Transfer the donuts to a paper towel lined plate to soak up the excess oil.
  • Spread the cream cheese icing from the cinnamon roll canister over the donuts while they are still hot.
  • Finally, serve and enjoy!


  • Make sure the oil reaches the correct temperature before frying the donuts.
  • It’s not necessary to warm up the icing unless you are unable to ice them while they’re still hot.
  • Top them with your favorite holiday sprinkles or enjoy as is.
