Making the best air fried Dominican salami is so easy that you won’t want to make it any other way.
The secret to making Dominican salami is the brand you’re using. My husband’s favorite is definitely the Induveca brand but I do know other Dominicans who swear by the Campesino brand. Preference will vary based on the part you’re from in the Dominican Republic. No matter which brand you prefer, you will certainly enjoy making it in the air fryer. You won’t have to worry about oil splattering and messes to clean up. And the end result is perfectly crispy salami. If you still prefer the old fashioned way of making Dominican salami, then try this recipe for Dominican Fried Salami.

How To Make Air Fried Dominican Salami
- Start by preheating the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes to get it nice and hot.
- Slice the salami according to how thick you like your slices.
- Transfer the slices of salami to the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 5-7 minutes, flipping half way. You may need additional time if you cut thicker slices, so just keep an eye on it and remove once they’re crispy.
- Transfer them to a paper towel lined plate and serve with mangu, queso frito and a fried egg. Or simply enjoy it on its’ own.

Where Can I Buy?
Most Latin American super markets will carry the Induveca or Campesino brand of salami. If you can’t find them you can try purchasing from here as well.
Storing Suggestions
I’d rather enjoy air fried salami as soon as it is done cooking because that’s when it will taste the best. However, if you do have some leftovers, I recommend storing them inside of an air tight container lined with a paper towel to absorb extra moisture for just about an hour or so at most. I don’t recommend storing it in the refrigerator for long periods of time because that may altar the texture of the salami and it won’t be as crispy as it was when you first cooked it.
Recipe Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer brand and how thick or thin the salami slices are. Keep an eye on it after 3-4 minutes to ensure it does not burn and add additional time as needed.
- The Induveca or Campesino brand will work well for this recipe.
- The salami is already cooked. Air frying it will just get it nice and crispy.
