Let’s Talk About The Ingredients
- Shake N Bake – Extra crispy shake and bake works very well for this recipe.
- Chicken Breast – Cut the chicken breasts into strips that resemble fries.
- Eggs – Dip the chicken in the eggs first before coating with shake n bake.
Coat the chicken in egg and shake n bake before air frying.
How To Make Air Fryer Chicken Fries
- First, start by slicing the chicken breasts into strips that resemble fries. They should be about 3x.75 inches.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- Beat the egg in a bowl.
- Pour the shake n bake mixture into the plastic bags provided in the box.
- Dip the chicken fries in the egg first, making sure to let the excess drip off.
- Transfer the chicken to the plastic bags with the shake n bake in it and shake until the chicken fries are completely coated. You’ll have to work in batches for this. I did about 4 strips of chicken at a time.
- Spray the air fryer with an oil mist. Avocado oil works great for this.
- Transfer the chicken fries to the air fryer making sure not to over crowd.
- Cook at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Once the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, it is ready.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy.
Where Can I Buy Shake N Bake?
Shake n bake can be found at most grocery stores in the aisle where you would find most pantry staples. I love the extra crispy version especially for air fryer recipes.
Storing Suggestions
Store leftover chicken fries in a paper towel lined air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. You may reheat them in the air fryer at the lowest temperature until completely heated through or microwave once ready to enjoy again.
Recipe Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on what kind of air fryer you own. Check the temperature of the chicken fries to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F before consuming. Mine were ready in 10 minutes but some air fryers may take longer.
- Cook in batches so you don’t over crowd the air fryer.
- Always read your air fryer manual before using.
