Air fryer chorizo is absolutely amazing! Perfectly cooked without all of the extra oil that grabs on to the sausage when it’s pan fried. I love serving Spanish chorizo with scrambled eggs and even some avocado on the side for breakfast. For crispy but juicy air fried chorizo, slicing the sausage before air frying is the key. I also recommend trying these air fried chicharrones or even this air fryer chicharron de pollo if you’re on an air fryer recipe kick like me.

How To Make Air Fryer Chorizo Sausage
- Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- Slice the chorizo sausages into 2 inch thick slices.
- Transfer the sliced sausages to the air fryer and cook at 380 degrees F for 10-12 minutes or until fully cooked, flipping halfway.
- Serve with scrambled eggs and some sliced avocado on the side and enjoy.
Can I Cook The Sausages Whole?
Yes, you can certainly cook the chorizo sausages whole. However, I find that slicing the sausages first will result in a more even cooking method. I also like my chorizo a little bit crispy on the edges and slicing them before air frying will give you that exact result.
Serving Suggestions
Chorizo is perfect with so many different sides. I enjoy them for breakfast with scrambled eggs and avocado. However, they also go great with diced potatoes or even shrimp. Toss them in garlic as well or serve them with pasta. There are endless possibilities of how you can serve this Spanish sausage.
Recipe Notes
- Make sure to buy raw chorizo in the casing that must be cooked before consuming. Some brands sell the chorizo already cooked which will not work for this recipe.
- Slicing the sausages results in a more even cooking but they can be air fried whole if you prefer. However, it may take longer for them to be done.
- Monitor the chorizo after the first 7 minutes of cooking because some air fryer brands will cook faster than others.
- Always read your air fryer manual before using it.
