How To Make Honey Garlic Chicken Wings In The Air Fryer
- First, start by cutting the tips off of the wings and separating the drums from the flats if desired. You may also cook them whole if you prefer.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- Use a paper towel to pat dry the chicken wings.
- In a bowl, combine the salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder and granulated garlic.
- Season the chicken wings with half of the seasoning blend.
- Mix together the flour and the rest of the seasoning blend.
- Coat the chicken wings with the seasoned flour.
- Spray the inside of the air fryer with non stick cooking spray.
- Transfer the wings to the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 16 minutes, flipping half way. Check the temperature of the wings with a kitchen thermometer to ensure they are at least 165 degrees F before serving. Otherwise, continue cooking until done.
- Finely mince the garlic cloves.
- In a pot over medium high heat, combine the butter and garlic cloves. Saute for about 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Pour in the honey and soy sauce. Mix everything together to combine.
- Lower the heat to medium low and cook until the honey garlic sauce has thickened. This may take about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the chicken wings from the air fryer and toss in the honey garlic sauce.
- Garnish with scallions or fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Cook Until Done
Chicken wings made in the air fryer might cook at different times since each air fryer is different. I recommend using a kitchen thermometer to check for doneness. Once the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F, it is ready to serve. Otherwise, continue cooking until the chicken is completely cooked through.
Season To Taste
The seasoning blend used in this recipe is what I like to season my chicken with. Feel free to switch it up and use any seasoning blend you prefer. I also recommend seasoning to taste. The measurements recommended in this recipe are according to what I prefer.
Add A Little Kick
Make these delicious sticky wings a little bit spicy by adding hot sauce. Add 1/3 cup of hot sauce to the honey garlic sauce. You can add more or less hot sauce according to taste.
