Tequila and lime are definitely a match made in heaven! So when I decided to add this pair of ingredients to these oven baked chicken wings, it just made sense! These tequila lime chicken wings are packed with flavor! The tequila and lime act as a meat tenderizer, so these chicken wings are extra juicy! I love serving these wings along side these Ground Beef Nachos or these Buffalo Chicken Sliders during game day or when I just feel like serving a smorgasbord of different appetizers!

What Kind Of Tequila Should I Use?
I definitely recommend using good quality tequila. In my opinion, it certainly makes a difference in the taste of your chicken wings. For this recipe I used 1800 Silver Tequila but you can try out other brands like Patron or Don Julio.
Ingredients
- Chicken Wings
- Tequila
- Lime Juice
- Agave Syrup
- Salt
- Paprika Powder
- Granulated Garlic
- Cumin Powder
- Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- Fresh Cilantro (optional for garnishing)
How To Make Tequila Lime Chicken Wings
- First, start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees F.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside for now.
- Next, use a paper towel to pat dry your chicken wings. This will ensure the seasonings you add to the wings stick.
- Transfer the chicken wings to a bowl and season with tequila, lime juice, agave syrup, salt, paprika powder, granulated garlic, cumin powder and crushed red pepper flakes.
- Next, place the wings on top of the parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Bake your tequila lime chicken wings in a preheated 425 degree F oven. Flip them over after 20 minutes of baking. Then flip them over every 15 minutes until they are completely cooked through. This should take 40-45 minutes.
- Finally, remove the chicken wings from the oven, top off with more lime juice and fresh cilantro and serve!
Storing Tequila Lime Chicken Wings
Cooked chicken wings can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. I recommend waiting until your baked wings have cooled down completely before storing them in the refrigerator. Freeze cooked chicken wings in an air tight container for up to 3 months for best results. Heat up in the microwave once you’re ready to enjoy again.
Tips & Variations
- You can use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of your chicken wings. When the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F, the chicken wings are ready.
- Using a good quality brand of tequila is imperative to this recipe. As stated above, I used 1800 silver tequila but you can try Patron, Don Julio or any other quality brand you like.
- I highly recommend using lime juice from a freshly squeezed lime. Whenever I don’t use fresh lime juice in a recipe, I end up noticing the difference in the taste.
- Make sure to keep an eye on your baked chicken wings after the first 20 minutes. Flip them over and continue flipping as needed.
- Always season to taste. The amount of seasonings used for this recipe are listed as a general guide but you can add more or less according to personal taste preferences.

Alyson
Wow this one of several recipes I am in love with..I thinking the oven will work.. Do you really need an airfryer?
The Six Figure Dish
Hi Alyson! Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed this recipe. These chicken wings were made in the oven and the instructions are for baking, so no need for an air fryer on this one.
