First, start by preheating the air fryer to 325 degrees F for 5 minutes. Finely chop the onion or grate if you prefer.
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, granulated garlic, oregano, ketchup, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and onions. Mix until well incorporated. Form the ground beef mixture into 4 large oval shaped patties.
Spray the inside of the air fryer with a mist of non stick cooking spray. Place the Salisbury steak patties inside of the air fryer and cook at 325 degrees F for 8 minutes.
Open the air fryer and brush the steaks with barbecue sauce on all sides. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until fully cooked to your desired doneness. Serve over some delicious mashed potatoes or with some veggies on the side.
- Try making this recipe with this delicious mushroom gravy if you don’t like your Salisbury steak with bbq sauce.
- There is no need to flip the steak patties during cooking.
- Reduce salt and seasoning quantities if you decide to use seasoned bread crumbs instead of plain.
