First, start by preheating the air fryer to 350 degrees F for 5 minutes. In a bowl combine the apple pie filling and apple pie spice and add it to the baking dish. In a mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the flour, oats, salt, cinnamon, brown sugar and butter.
Mix together until you have pea sized pieces of butter. This will be your crumble or crisp topping.
Spoon the crumble mixture over the apple pie filling in the baking dish. Transfer to the air fryer and cook at 350 degrees F for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the air fryer and serve warm with some vanilla ice cream and a caramel drizzle.
- This baking dish worked well for this recipe. I do have a 7 qt air fryer so just make sure that if you have a smaller one, you’re using a baking dish that fits and is deep enough to hold all of the ingredients.
- Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer’s brand so check on it occasionally towards the end of the cooking process.
- Use cold, unsalted butter.
- Always read your air fryer’s manual before using it.
