- 1 lb tilapia
- 2 tbsp lemon juice 1 small lemon
- 3 tsp blackened seasoning or to taste
- fresh parsley for garnishing
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the tilapia fillets.
Pat dry the fish with a paper towel before seasoning.
Season the tilapia on all sides with blackened seasoning. Transfer the tilapia fillets to the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until cooked through. There is no need to flip. Use a spatula to remove the tilapia from the air fryer so the fish doesn’t break apart.
Top with fresh parsley if desired and serve immediately over salad, in fish tacos or any other way you’d like.
- You’ll know the fish fillets are ready once they flake easily with a fork.
- This recipe was made with old bay blackened seasoning.
- Patting the tilapia dry before seasoning will ensure the flavor really sticks to the fish while leaving behind a mild lemon flavor from the freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Cook the fillets in batches so you don't overcrowd the air fryer.
- Always read your air fryer manual before using it.
