Equipment

  • 1 small mason jar for storing

Ingredients

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine brown sugar, salt, garlic powder, smoked paprika, regular paprika, crushed red pepper flakes, chili powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, dried basil, dried parsley, ground black pepper and white pepper.
  • Use a whisk to mix together the spices, making sure to break up any large lumps from the brown sugar.
  • Transfer the prepared voodoo seasoning to an air tight container like a mason jar and use to season your favorite foods.

Notes

  • Store the voodoo seasoning in an air tight container for up to 6 months for optimal taste and freshness. A small mason jar works really well for storing.
  • To make it extra spicy, you may add up to 1 additional tbsp of cayenne pepper to this recipe
  • I've been asked if light brown sugar can be substituted in the place of dark brown sugar, however I wouldn't recommend it. Dark brown sugar works really well for tenderizing meat because it contains more moisture than other types of sugar.
