How To Make Air Fryer Fried Twinkies
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the Bisquick pancake mix, milk, egg, oil and vanilla extract and mix together.
- Line the inside of the air fryer with parchment paper and spray with propellant free coconut oil spray.
- Dip each Twinkie into the batter and allow the excess to drip off before transferring to the air fryer. Work in batches and do not over crowd, cooking about 3-4 Twinkies at a time. Only dip the Twinkies in the batter that you will cook immediately.
- Cook at 375 degrees F for 7-8 minutes or until golden.
- Remove from the air fryer and top with powdered sugar.
- Serve immediately with raspberry sauce or chocolate syrup and some whipped cream if desired.
Can I Substitute Bisquick With A Different Brand?
For the most part, any pancake mix would work for this recipe. However, you may need to adjust the cooking time because the batter might have a different consistency. This recipe was only tested using Bisquick Pancake/Baking mix so that is the one I recommend using if you can find it.
Serving Suggestions
- Powdered Sugar
- Raspberry Sauce
- Chocolate Syrup
- Strawberry Sauce
- Whipped Cream
Recipe Notes
- Make sure to let the excess batter drip off so the Twinkies don’t end up with a pool of batter around them. This would impact the shape and result in an excess of pancake coating around the Twinkie.
- Do not coat the Twinkies in pancake batter until you are ready to cook them. The Twinkies will begin absorbing the batter so dipping them too early before cooking will impact the texture.
- Use cooking tongs to easily transfer the coated Twinkies to the air fryer.
- Cooking times and temperatures may vary depending on the brand and power of your air fryer.
- Always read your air fryer manual.
