Sink your teeth into a juicy air fryer Salisbury steak topped with lots of bbq sauce and loaded with flavor.
This recipe is so easy to make that it’s excellent for busy weeknights. I always have ground beef on hand so trying out Salisbury steak in the air fryer was convenient. Let’s Talk About The Ingredients
- Ground Beef – Lean ground beef works well for this recipe.
- Bread Crumbs – Use plain panko bread crumbs or homemade.
- Egg – Mix the egg together with all of the ingredients.
- Salt, Granulated Garlic, Oregano, Ketchup, Mustard, Worcestershire Sauce – Combine all of these ingredients together until they are well incorporated into the ground beef.
- Onions – Finely chop the onions.
- BBQ Sauce – Sweet Baby Ray’s is one of my favorite barbecue sauce to use for recipes.
Form the ground beef mixture into oval shaped patties and transfer to the air fryer to cook.
How To Make Air Fryer Salisbury Steak
- First, start by preheating the air fryer to 325 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- Finely chop the onions or grate them if you prefer.
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, granulated garlic, oregano, ketchup, dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and onions. Mix until well incorporated.
- Form the ground beef mixture into 4 large oval shaped patties.
- Spray the inside of the air fryer with a mist of non stick cooking spray.
- Place the Salisbury steak patties inside of the air fryer and cook at 325 degrees F for 8 minutes.
- Open the air fryer and brush the steaks with barbecue sauce on all sides. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until fully cooked to your desired doneness.
- Serve over some delicious mashed potatoes or with some veggies on the side.
Barbecue Sauce
For this recipe, I am using Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce but you may use any brand you prefer. You may also make this recipe with brown gravy, mushroom gravy or really any sauce you enjoy.
Storing Suggestions
Store completely cooled leftover air fried Salisbury steaks inside of an air tight container for 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer at the lowest temperature or in the microwave.
