This Avocado Peanut Butter Smoothie is one of the most delicious smoothies I have tried. I know it may sound like a strange combination at first but hear me out on this one. The addition of the avocado in this smoothie makes for a super creamy texture! It tastes like you’re indulging in a milkshake when, in reality, this smoothie is actually pretty healthy! The avocado’s taste is very mild compared to the peanut butter and banana in this smoothie so you really won’t taste it. How Do I Cut and Pit An Avocado?
If you’ve never cut and pit an avocado, don’t worry because it’s actually pretty simple. Gently hold the avocado with one hand on one side, then use a sharp knife to cut the avocado lengthwise around the seed. Open and separate the avocado halves. Pitting the avocado is a bit trickier and you must be very careful so you don’t cut yourself. The easiest way I have found to accomplish this is to wedge a sharp knife into the pit but don’t insert it all the way in. Then twist the knife a bit to remove the pit. This may take a bit of practice but once you get the hang of it, it will be easier!
Tips & Variations for Making Avocado Peanut Butter Smoothie
- If you don’t like thick smoothies, I recommend adding more milk little by little until you reach your desired consistency.
- If you don’t have time to freeze the banana, you can still make the smoothie with a fresh banana. I prefer frozen banana because it makes the smoothie cold and creamy. You may add a cup of ice if you’re using a fresh banana.
- You may use regular almond milk or any other milk of your choice. The reason I prefer using the unsweetened vanilla almond milk is because I love the hint of vanilla flavor it adds to the smoothie.
- You may add honey or a sweetener of choice if you don’t think this smoothie is sweet enough for you. For my personal taste, the banana added just the right amount of sweetness to it.
