Ingredients
- Sausage – Make this recipe with either breakfast sausage or regular seasoned sausage like Italian.
- Butter, Flour, Milk – Make the roux to thicken up the gravy and whisk together all of the ingredients well.
- Biscuits – Store bought biscuits were used for this recipe and cooked according to the package instructions.
How To Make Hardee’s Sausage Gravy
- Bake the canned biscuits according to package instructions.
- Cook the ground sausage until browned using a meat chopper to break up the meat and set aside once finished.
- In the same pot you cooked the sausage in, add the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour to the pot and whisk until a thick paste is formed.
- Pour the milk in gradually while continuing to whisk, add salt, garlic powder and pepper.
- Add the sausage back into the pot and let simmer until it thickens up a bit more about 10-15 minutes. The gravy is done once it is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
- Serve over biscuits hot out of the oven and enjoy.
