Make these crispy spicy smashed voodoo potatoes as a perfect side to any entree. They’re seasoned with spicy voodoo seasoning, smashed and then baked until golden and crisp. I love serving these along side a copycat version of house of blues voodoo shrimp. These spicy smashed potatoes make an awesome addition to any other entree as well.

These are the ingredients you'll need to make spicy smashed potatoes

After you finish boiling the potatoes, smash them using a cup. They should look like the photo below.

This is how the potatoes should look after smashing them with a cup

How To Make Spicy Smashed Voodoo Potatoes

  1. Bring water to a boil in a large pot and add salt.
  2. Once the water comes to a rolling boil, add the baby potatoes and cook for 15-20 minutes or until fork tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and transfer to a bowl.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  5. Add chopped red chili pepper, minced garlic, olive oil, sriracha and voodoo seasoning to the potatoes and toss to coat.
  6. Transfer the potatoes to a parchment paper lined baking sheet and smash them using the bottom of a cup. It’s best to wait for the potatoes to cool down before smashing so they don’t stick to the bottom of the cup.
  7. Top the potatoes with the remaining seasoning mixture and transfer to the oven. Bake at 400 degrees F for 35-40 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  8. Immediately top with shredded parmesan cheese and chives and serve with a side of sriracha mayo if desired.
