This Tres Leches Martini is the cocktail version of your favorite traditional Mexican dessert, the Tres Leches cake! Don’t get me wrong, you can certainly buy the Tres Leches Triple Cream Liqueur which is sold in most liquor stores. However, this homemade version is so delicious and easy to make! This dessert cocktail is one of those drinks you make when you’ve got friends or family coming over and want to make an impression. It’s basically your favorite dessert in a Martini glass! If you love Tres Leches cake as much as I do, make sure to try this Chocolate Tres Leches Cake and this Horchata Tres Leches Cake the next time you’re in the mood for something sweet.

Tips & Variations

  • You may substitute the heavy cream for regular milk. I prefer using heavy cream because it gives the cocktail a creamy texture.
  • Add whipped cream on top to make this Tres Leches liqueur taste even more like dessert. Drizzle the top of the whipped cream with even more dulce de leche if desired.
  • If you’re in a rush or don’t feel like waiting 30 minutes to chill the glasses, you may skip this step.
  • If your Tres Leches martini still isn’t cold enough, add a few ice cubes to your drink.
