- Catfish Fillets – Visit your local fish market for some fresh catfish fillets
- Milk – Soak the fillets in milk and lemon juice to remove the fishy taste before air frying
- Blackened Seasoning and Cayenne Pepper – I love adding a little extra cayenne pepper for more spice and flavor
- Lemon Juice, Garlic, Parsley and Melted Butter – Make this optional sauce to serve with the catfish, you won’t regret it!
How To Make Air Fryer Blackened Catfish Fillets
- Place the catfish fillets, milk and 1 tbsp of lemon juice in a ziploc bag. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before air frying.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine the blackened seasoning and cayenne pepper.
- Spray the inside of the air fryer with propellant free avocado oil spray.
- Remove the catfish fillets from the refrigerator and transfer to a plate. Pat dry each fillet on both sides with paper towels.
- Coat each fish fillet with the seasoning mix on both sides.
- Transfer the catfish to the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 20-22 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking process.
- Melt the butter, chop the parsley and garlic clove.
- In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, parsley, garlic and 2 tsp of lemon juice.
- Remove the blackened catfish fillets from the air fryer and serve with the lemon butter sauce.
