Air Fryer Old Bay Shrimp has quickly turned into one of my favorite meals to make! It only takes 5 ingredients and 7 minutes to cook in the air fryer and the result is amazing, juicy and flavorful shrimp! What I love the most about this recipe is that it’s keto-friendly and low-carb, perfect for my waist-line! When I make old bay shrimp, I serve it with this Arugula Avocado Salad with Homemade Lime Vinaigrette and sometimes these Air Fryer Buttermilk Biscuits. If you’re still on the fence about whether to buy an air fryer or not, then maybe this shrimp recipe will help you make your decision once and for all!

Why Make Shrimp In The Air Fryer?
To make a long story short, shrimp cooked in the air fryer is easier and faster. It’s so much easier to clean an air fryer than it is to clean pots and pans or baking dishes! If you have an air fryer, then you definitely know what I mean! It usually takes me about 10 minutes, give or take, to cook shrimp on the stove top. In the air fryer, they’re ready in just 7 minutes.
What Is Old Bay Seasoning?
As far as I’m aware, Old Bay has never released their secret formula for their amazing blend of spices. They have stated that it is a mix of 18 different herbs and spices that make up the original Old Bay formula. Paprika, celery salt and bay leaves are just a few of the ingredients included in this seasoning mix. You can definitely attempt making your own at home but I purchased store bought to make this recipe.

What Else Can I Make In My Air Fryer?
While there are so many different foods you can make in your air fryer, I wanted to give you a few ideas of past recipes I’ve made in mine. My favorite air fryer recipes so far has got to be these Air Fryer Cornish Hens and this Air Fryer Garlic Bread. However, I’ve also made sweets in the air fryer like these adorable Air Fryer Easter Bunny Donuts which you can customize depending on what holiday it is or simply make them plain with just the icing. There is so much more you can do with your air fryer and it continues to amaze me everyday!
Tips & Variations
- Buy peeled and deveined shrimp or prawns to make things easier. Otherwise, you’ll have to peel and devein them yourself prior to seasoning.
- I really like keeping the shrimp tails on for this recipe because they pack in all that flavor. But if they’re just not your cup of tea, go ahead and remove them before seasoning.
- Always read your air fryer manual before cooking in it. There are so many different air fryer brands out there and you definitely want to make sure you’re using this appliance correctly. Cooking times and temperatures may vary because of this.
- I used jumbo shrimp for this recipe. If you’re using smaller shrimp, you may need to adjust the cooking time.
