How To Make Air Fryer Tuna Steak
- Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tuna steaks.
- Pat dry the tuna with a paper towel then season on all sides with blackened seasoning.
- Spray the inside of the air fryer with propellant-free cooking spray.
- Transfer the tuna to the air fryer and cook at 375 degrees F for 4 minutes, flipping halfway with a spatula.
- Remove from the air fryer, let it rest for a few minutes then top with green onions and serve.
Adjust Cooking Time
This recipe will give you medium-rare air fried tuna. Reduce the cooking time to 3 minutes for rare results. For medium tuna, cook for 5 minutes and for well done air fried steak, it will take about 6-7 minutes.
Why Use Propellant-Free Cooking Spray?
Using a propellant-free cooking spray like this avocado oil spray is essential maintaining and preserving the quality of your air fryer. Cooking sprays with aerosol and propellants will damage the non-stick coating inside of the air fryer, so it is not recommended to use them.
Recipe Notes
- This recipe is for medium-rare tuna. Adjust the cooking time to your preference.
- Handle the fish with a spatula so it doesn’t break apart.
- Pat drying with a paper towel prior to seasoning will ensure the spices stick to the fish while leaving behind a mild lime flavor.
- Always read your air fryer manual before using it.
