How To Make Air Fryer Tuna Steak

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F.
  2. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the tuna steaks.
  3. Pat dry the tuna with a paper towel then season on all sides with blackened seasoning.
  4. Spray the inside of the air fryer with propellant-free cooking spray.
  5. Transfer the tuna to the air fryer and cook at 375 degrees F for 4 minutes, flipping halfway with a spatula.
  6. Remove from the air fryer, let it rest for a few minutes then top with green onions and serve.
Cook the tuna steaks to medium rare or the point you desire by following the instructions included here in this post.

Adjust Cooking Time

This recipe will give you medium-rare air fried tuna. Reduce the cooking time to 3 minutes for rare results. For medium tuna, cook for 5 minutes and for well done air fried steak, it will take about 6-7 minutes.

Why Use Propellant-Free Cooking Spray?

Using a propellant-free cooking spray like this avocado oil spray is essential maintaining and preserving the quality of your air fryer. Cooking sprays with aerosol and propellants will damage the non-stick coating inside of the air fryer, so it is not recommended to use them.

Blackened air fryer tuna steak is low-carb and keto-friendly, perfect for a healthy diet.

Recipe Notes

  • This recipe is for medium-rare tuna. Adjust the cooking time to your preference.
  • Handle the fish with a spatula so it doesn’t break apart.
  • Pat drying with a paper towel prior to seasoning will ensure the spices stick to the fish while leaving behind a mild lime flavor.
  • Always read your air fryer manual before using it.
