An Explanation Of The Ingredients
- Flour – Whisk the flour together first with the rest of the dry ingredients.
- Baking Powder – Helps the muffins rise up nicely during the cooking process.
- Salt – Just a pinch of salt is all you need to help balance out the sweetness.
- Sugar – White granulated sugar works well for this recipe.
- Oil – Pour the oil in with the rest of the wet ingredients and mix well to combine.
- Egg – Just one egg is all you’ll need.
- Vanilla Extract – The vanilla extract gives these blueberry muffins a light vanilla taste.
- Buttermilk – Pour the buttermilk in to make extra soft and fluffy air fryer muffins.
- Blueberries – Fold the fresh blueberries into the muffin batter.
This is what the batter should look like after folding in the blueberries.
Transfer the muffins to the air fryer and cook at 325 degrees F for 13-15 minutes.

Can I Use Frozen Blueberries?
Frozen blueberries will work just fine for this recipe. Simply fold them into the batter the same way you would do with fresh blueberries.
Air Fried Muffins Vs. Baked
Making muffins in the air fryer rather than baking them is simply an easier method. There is really no difference in taste, as far as what I’ve noticed. They will cook quickly but will still have a soft, fluffy texture when you bite into them.
Storing Suggestions
Store completely cooled blueberry muffins inside of an air tight container with a piece of paper towel to catch any condensation or extra moisture. You can keep them for 5 days at room temperature using this method. Change out the paper towel as needed if it becomes damp. Air fried muffins can also be stored in the freezer for up to 2 months. Simply ensure they are tightly wrapped with plastic wrap to prevent freezer burns.
Recipe Notes
- Keep an eye on your muffins after the 13 minute mark. Each air fryer cooks at different speeds, so it is important to check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the muffins. If the toothpick comes out clean, it is ready.
- Fold in the blueberries so that you do not over mix.
- I mixed the batter in a bowl with a whisk and it was very simple but you can use a stand mixer or hand mixer if you prefer.
- Use a single muffin pan that will fit inside of any air fryer or this larger air fryer approved muffin pan.
